Panoramas

Panoramas can be vast in real life and on digital media. Using special software for creating multi-row stitched images its possible to create files with over 1 gigapixels. Yes…The other fact about panoramas in life and in picture form is that the viewer has to scan the image with their eyes. For this reason its also difficult for the photographer to get the composition correct: the bigger the panorama the bigger the challenge.

Mostly I create stitched images that are more likely to be in the range of 40-150 megapixels – but only if the subject doesn’t move! The included images here show a cross section of whats possible: the technique is very suited to Architecture and Design because of the ability to create huge image files capable of being printed on a billboard at 300DPI, and, because of the control over the architectural projection – IE the ability to take out distortion or add it.
